Less than a year after she began her journey into jewellery making, Karen had her first major exhibition, New Designers-One Year On. Since then, Karen has spent many hours making incredible works of art, inspired by her adventures as well as trials and tribulations of life that she has experienced over the last decade. From ill health to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and scaling Mount Everest, Karen has wasted no time in creating incredible works of art reflective of these once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Karen’s first jewellery collection, Perseverance, was inspired by her battles with ill health a few years after starting her company. After taking inspiration from Buddhist singing bowls that she discovered in her numerous travels, Karen named her second range Serenity. Taking her passion for adventure to an entirely new level, Karen scaled Mt. Kilimanjaro with a group of inspirational women. Her next range, Hope, was inspired by this journey and the hope she found taking on such an incredible feat. During this journey, Karen was intrigued by the lichens and mosses on the ancient trees in the foothills by the Machame Gate, leading up to the mountain, and they also helped inspire this collection. After Mt. Kilimanjaro, Karen decided to go one step further and tackle scaling parts of Mount Everest. On her climb, Karen was inspired by the rugged shapes of the glaciers and landscapes. From this journey, Karen created the Spirit Collection. The first of its kind for Karen, she decided to partner with Cardiff Metropolitan to use 3D printing and design to create her latest collection.

Now Karen, is excited to venture into the world of Artificial Intelligence, breaking the barriers of standard design to discover new forms of art and creation. At her core, Karen is passionate about continuing to be innovative. She has always wanted to push the boundaries of whatever she is doing to, allowing her to flex her creative muscles, share creative skills with others, and help others to achieve wellbeing.
